As soon as I say those three words your mind is taken to those Ads with that flakey white scalp. The horror of dandruff falling like snow onto your shoulders as you take on the day.
Like fairy tales and horror movies alike dandruff and falling flakes are nothing like each other.
Dandruff is yellow, sticky and smells. White flakes are commonly dry scalp, that can be associated with another scalp condition.
Marketing has played us the fool into thinking white flakes are dandruff.
How can they get away with it? The bottle clearly states Anti-Dandruff shampoo.
Yet not one of their products is an anti-dandruff shampoo. They are a moisture based product to coat the scalp to eliminate that flakey effect that can come from dandruff. That’s what those *** are great for. Hiding the facts in plain sight.
Now back to the sticky situation. Dandruff is a common scalp condition that needs to be treated with medicated shampoos. Medical grade products are not found in your local supermarket.
Every visit to the salon, have your scalp checked. It’s a place we never truly see, and the knowledge and professionalism from your stylist can be what you need to stop the flakey white, that yellow sticky feel or even just the dreaded itch.
Our scalp is as important as the skin on the rest of our body. An outbreak is a sign that something isn’t as it should be.
Don’t ignore it, or ask Dr google. Speak with your hairdresser. In fact just call me!
